This web production was designed and developed by Chris Hart, Nottingham,
England.
I first saw Sean O'Kane starring as the `Interceptor` in the programme of the same name by Chatsworth/Thames Television, broadcast in 1989. I was hooked from the very first episode. The Interceptor was a menacing figure dressed all in black. His purpose in life was to make the game-show contestants' life hell by pursuing them in either a sleek helicopter, a Maserati motor car, a Kawasaki motorbike or on foot. As well as scaring the living daylights out of most of the contestants, he provided the shows humurous element, with his mannerisms, catchphrases and best of all - his dialogue with Mikie, the pilot of his helicopter. I have followed Sean's career ever since. Its great to be lazily watching TV and suddenly you hear a familiar Scottish voice - its SEAN!! If its a commercial, you are guaranteed to be grinning by the end - well for all the ones that are designed to be humourous anyway!! He can turn a plain commercial into something worth watching time and time again. Its the same with any serious role he may have - he seems to give every role a hundred and ten percent every time and you can tell he's doing what he loves best. When I first discovered the internet a few years ago, I eagerly scoured every corner of the World Wide Web looking for an Interceptor web site. Disappointed that one didn't yet exist, I decided to create my own. During the last two years I have enjoyed receiving a steady stream of e-mails from people who remember and enjoyed watching Interceptor as much as me. It came as quite a surprise the first time Sean signed the guestbook on my site. You can imagine the shock then, when Sean called me at home last December offering me the opportunity of creating a web site for him. Well, that's the story. I hope you enjoy this site as much as I enjoyed making it. Chris Hart. February 2nd 1999. Thanks to Lee Redmayne and Lee Beckett for beta testing this site throughout its development. |
